The patented Welch Allyn Coaxial Vision System facilitates ophthalmoscopy by enabling easier entry into the eye, a larger field of view, and reduced glare compared to standard ophthalmoscopes.
The patented Welch Allyn Coaxial Vision System facilitates ophthalmoscopy by enabling easier entry into the eye, a larger field of view, and reduced glare compared to standard ophthalmoscopes.
Patented Coaxial-Plus optics enable easy entry into undilated pupils for more accurate diagnoses, while two filter selections provide optimum light levels for entering healthy eyes and those with cataracts.
The revolutionary PanOptic Ophthalmoscope addresses the fundamental challenge in ophthalmoscopy—to get a good view of the fundus in order to make a sufficient assessment. Patented Axial PointSource Optics make it easy to enter undilated pupils, offering a 25º field of view, resulting in a view of the fundus that's 5X greater than you see with a standard ophthalmoscope in an undilated eye. Direct viewing of the fundus through the PanOptic provides better images of the retinal changes caused by hypertension, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and papilledema to enable clinicians to make these diagnoses earlier.

This hand-held, direct illuminating ophthalmoscope from Welch Allyn incorporates an innovative and patented new optical design called Axial PointSource Optics. This technology allows the user of the PanOptic to more easily enter small pupils and provides a field of view of the fundus that's five times larger than ever before achieved with a standard ophthalmoscope in an undilated eye (25° field of view). Model 11810 features a half-moon aperture (which provides a combination of depth perception and field of view. Allows you to work six inches from the patient's eye for improved comfort.
